Tasting Note
The Weissburgunder Brut captivates with a multifaceted bouquet featuring ripe apples (Cox Orange, Goldparmäne), candied citrus fruit, and distinctly pronounced notes of brioche, yeast pastry, and nuts. The exceptionally long aging on the lees—spanning around 66 months—imparts additional depth, a creamy texture, and a delicate, saline minerality.
On the palate, it presents itself as both powerful and elegant, characterized by a mature effervescence, a creamy mousse, and a clear, vibrant structure. The extended maturation on the lees yields complex autolytic notes that culminate in a very lingering, finely balanced finish.
The basis wines for our traditional sparkling wines come from the early harvests of fresh, healthy berries in our Haardt vineyards. The cool fermentation process follows the very gentle juice extraction process by means of whole grape pressing. The second fermentation process is based on the traditional champagne method, which involves a subsequent period of bottle aging on the lees for at least 18 months.

2019: SPARKLING WINE GUIDE GERMANY 2025: "Müller-Catoir's Riesling sparkling wine has long since become a classic in the Sparkling Wine Guide. It is now joined by a NEW Pinot Blanc, also a brut. Both achieve a beautiful harmony of elegance, complexity, and expression with an undertone of saline iodine. The Pinot Blanc displays a wealth of character right from the start: citrus notes, green fruit gum, apple, and a hint of marzipan on the nose. It has a decent punch, but with plenty of room for the challenging acidity and the super-long finish—what a first!"
