Tasting Note
Dark cherry red in the glass. Intense nose of black cherries, elderberries, freshly ground pepper and bay leaf. The mouth is cool, silky and very fine. Wonderful acidity, terrific freshness, harmonious spiciness with soft tannins. Juicy, almost explosive sour cherry fruit. Perfect balance of fruit, spice and tannin with a firm structure and Burgundian elegance.

2024: VG – Verdens Gang (one of Norway’s leading daily newspapers) | Vinguiden | "Wine Picks of the Week: Pinot Noir – The Best Wines" | Sara Døscher: 91/100 points, Die roll: 6 (highest score): "You simply can't get enough of this. A highly elegant Pinot Noir! Wow, it is stunning. Silk and velvet all at once. Delicate yet powerful—isn't that a contradiction? Not with this wine. Müller-Catoir’s Mussbach Pinot Noir is a delicate, nuanced wine that makes time stand still for a brief moment. A bit like a soap bubble—you almost fear it might burst and vanish. But it doesn’t; the aroma and flavor simply linger, growing ever more intense. The more time this wine spends in the glass, the more it opens up. Like a rose. After a few minutes in the glass, the aromas and flavor nuances truly emerge—so floral, so perfumed, so intense! An incredibly concentrated and powerful Pinot, in the best possible sense. You simply can't get enough of it. Layer upon layer of sweet-tart red fruit: cranberries, plums, raspberries, freshly crushed strawberries, pomegranate, sage, lavender, and black tea. A hint of roses and spicy wood notes. So rich, so romantic. Müller-Catoir proves once again that Pinot Noir outside of Burgundy is more than justified. A 'wow' wine for candlelight and long, contemplative moments."
